About

Cindi Bright is the President of The Bright Group, a management consulting firm focusing on the ecosystems of corporate America impacting and impeding progress for brown and black people.  She is the Producer and Host of HeartBeat radio, in its third year, a live weekly show hosted on Rainier Avenue Radio, Diverse community programming, focusing on the “heart condition” of this country impeding diversity progress.   With decades of experience in corporate America as a former Human Resources executive in organizations, diversity and leadership, she formerly led HR for three financial services businesses.  She had global responsibility in these roles. Reporting to CEOs, Cindi has experience working with C-suite executives and Board of Director leaders.  A former candidate for public office in 2018, her platform has become a highly sought-after show to air the voices of people, and to influence public policy to improves the lives of black and brown people.  She lives the life of a black woman and has countless stories in business.

As a Black Woman and Diversity expert, Cindi consults to public and private organizations and boards, and various leaders.  Spoken through the lens of an impacted person, along with her business acumen and experience, Cindi is challenging the status quo and is a provocateur of change.  She has been the keynote speaker at law conferences, human resources conferences and recently published a TEDx Talk titled “Reflections of Race”.   Cindi has “righted” many “wrongs” for people of color.  She coaches many women, particularly black women in corporate America, helping them navigate the systemic challenges black people face in corporate America.

Cindi is a successful plaintiff in a Discrimination lawsuit, where she faced personal discrimination for speaking out on issues of injustice.  At the time of her jury verdict, she was the second largest plaintiff verdict for the State of Washington.  She was asked by her attorney to publicly speak about the verdict at the time but refused to do so because she is a Black woman and was concerned about employability.  Seven years later, she is unapologetically speaking out on these injustices.

Cindi is a published author of The Color of Courage, Crushing Racism in Corporate America.  A personal story of triumph over obstacles to inspire others to stand in their truths and to challenge corporate America to address the inequities at play for brown and black people.  She shares stories as an impacted black woman inside of corporate America and the systems at play inside of organizations.  Her book is scheduled for release in Spring 2021. She is an entrepreneur and has successfully built a business from the ground up. She has grown her listenership on HeartBeat radio and aims to become a national voice for change.

Cindi serves on the board of the Urban League, Metropolitan Seattle.  Additionally, she is sitting on the Advisory Board to Opportunity PAC (Political Action Committee), focused on propelling black women into public office.  Formerly, she served as the Board Director and Co-Chair to Mentoring Works Washington as well as Atlantic Street Center, all social justice organizations focusing on advancing the lives of brown and black people.  She is a mentor to several young black men and women to help them navigate their careers in corporate America.

Cindi holds an Executive MBA from Foster School of Business, University of Washington.  She holds a Certificate in The Soul of Leadership, Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University taught by Deepak Chopra.  She has completed Board Development Course as the first cohort for the Women Board of Directors Development Program, University of Washington.
