About

Mark Ostach is a globally recognized speaker specializing in digital wellness and human connection. With degrees in psychology and technology, he has delivered two TED talks and authored two books, emphasizing the importance of courage through vulnerability. Ostach's mission is to remind the world that human connection is the most powerful connection we have. He has been featured in USA Today and has spoken to thousands, offering strategies to combat disconnection and restore mental energy within teams by modeling vulnerability and courage.

Mark Ostach's journey into digital wellness began in 2003 during his psychology studies at Albion College, where he recognized the impact of online habits on mental health. In 2010, he developed a web plugin to help users manage their time and mood online. The following year, he collaborated with Dr. Larry Rosen to explore the internet's effects on emotions. By 2012, Ostach conducted a 300-person study on students' time management using his software. In 2013, he co-presented with a University of Michigan researcher on Facebook's influence on loneliness and envy.

A year later, he was a finalist with Covenant Eyes for a campaign addressing pornography's impact on health and relationships. In 2015, Ostach delivered a TEDx talk titled "Are you an i-Drenaline Junkie?" examining how smartphones alter biochemistry. His advocacy continued in 2016 with a podcast at Twitter's headquarters for the Digital Citizenship Summit. The rise of digital wellness in 2017 led numerous organizations to engage him for guidance on reducing stress and burnout through digital boundaries.

By 2019, he was speaking nationwide, promoting a culture of digital well-being. The 2020 shift to virtual events expanded his global reach, teaching audiences to connect courageously online. In 2021, Ostach maintained his virtual focus and featured in various media outlets, including a WJR 760 AM interview on improving digital wellness amid political and pandemic news. The following year, he launched the "Courage to Connect" podcast and released his book "If You Really Knew Me..."

In 2023, after collaborating with over 200 organizations in three years, he shared key insights on fostering social connection and digital wellness in the workplace.
